This past February we hit an incredible milestone: 10,000 followers on Instagram! We’re incredibly grateful to have such a supportive and engaged community alongside us. Every follow, like, comment, and share shows how much you care about what’s happening downtown.
To celebrate, we partnered with some of our favorite local spots — The Purple Bowl, Momo’s Master, Voodoo Wing Co., Italian Pizzeria III, Light Years, and Johnny T-shirt — to give away 10 gift cards as a sincere thank-you to the community that makes downtown feel like home.
On a beautiful Saturday, we hit the streets of downtown Chapel Hill with a camera, a mic, and one question: “What do you love about downtown Chapel Hill?”
Anyone who stopped to answer had the chance to win a gift card, and the conversations that came about were so inspiring. People talked about the sense of community they feel every time they walk down Franklin Street. They shared memories of family traditions, favorite meals, and spontaneous run-ins with friends. One participant spoke about their family’s deep roots in Chapel Hill and how much they appreciate seeing new energy come into town each year with every class of UNC students.
