To be a champion and advocate for downtown Chapel Hill through programming, marketing, business support, and community building.
Strategic Goals
Goal 1: Activate downtown through cohesive marketing and broad programming
» We market downtown and downtown businesses
» We hire musicians and artists to play in downtown through events like Downtown Live
» We highlight what’s going on downtown in our events calendar
» We partner with groups like the town’s Arts & Culture department and UNC Arts Everywhere to bring programming downtown
Goal 2: Create an attractive and welcoming district by increasing clean and safe standards in downtown
» We maintain the brick planters downtown, and a number of new concrete planters being installed in the summer of 2022
» We manage and monitor all issues related to safety in downtown
» We foster a safe and intergenerational nightlife atmosphere in downtown
Goal 3: Offer support to downtown businesses, merchants, and property owners
» Provide support to help existing businesses thrive and keep downtown’s storefronts active
» We are a resource for data, information, and trends related to downtown
