Valentine’s Day is upon us! Time to plan something special for your special someone. Whether it’s flowers, dinner, or a gift as unique as they are, you can find everything you need to show your affection. Here’s a quick rundown of how to spoil your Valentine in Downtown Chapel Hill.

Flowers

Flowers are a Valentine’s Day staple, and we have two fabulous florists. Call Chapel Hill Florist at 919-929-2903 or University Florist at 919-929-1119 for beautiful blooms. You can also order online and in person at both locations.

Clothing & Jewelry

Add a little sparkle to your loved one’s day with jewelry. Find earrings, necklaces, and more at Creative Metalsmiths, Quantum Soul, or Light Years. You can shop online at Light Years; stop by Creative Metalsmiths at 117 E. Franklin Street to see their inventory in person.

Need a Valentine’s Day outfit and accessories? Try Uniquities, Julian’s, and Rumors! They have everything you need to help you look (and feel) your best on your night out!

Reservations

Wander downtown and you’ll find diverse and delectable offerings at local restaurants. Lantern offers a three-course Prix Fixe dinner for $75 for Valentine’s weekend; call (919)969-8846 to make reservations. You will find French and Italian cuisine with American twists at La Residence or 411 WestCrossroads Chapel Hill at the Carolina Inn offers a creative, comforting menu designed by Executive Chef Jeremy Blankenship. Talulla’s serves authentic Turkish food with belly-dancing performances on select nights! In the mood for Indian cuisine? Try Chimney, Cholanad, or Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe. Ay Por Dios and Que Chula offer creative Mexican dishes in fun, colorful atmospheres while Rougarou (Imbibe) has an ever-changing menu of Cajun specialties. You can’t go wrong!

Cocktails

In addition to our restaurants, Downtown Chapel Hill has many bars serving creative cocktails. The Crunkleton features award-winning mixologists and a vast, library-style “liquor wall.” TRU offers a selection of wine and beer, and Lapin Bleu displays art by local artists! In the mood for bar food? The Northside District, Franklin Motors, and Dead Mule Club are great gastropubs offering drinks, drafts, and pub fare.

Want to enjoy a nightcap at home? Stock up bottles, cans, and growlers at Beer Study, Carolina Brewery, DB Sutton & Co. Wine Shop, and Gizmo Brew Works, as well as non-alcoholic options at Boro Bodega. Remember: whatever you do, enjoy it responsibly!
