About Lori Horvitz:
Lori Horvitz’ first collection of memoir-essays, The Girls of Usually (Truman State UP, 2015), won the 2016 Gold Medal IPPY Book Award in Autobiography/Memoir. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in a variety of journals, including Under the Sun, Hobart, South Dakota Review, The Laurel Review, The New York Times, The Guardian, Bustle, and Hotel Amerika. Professor of English at UNC Asheville, she holds a Ph.D. in English from SUNY Albany, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College.
About M. Randal O’Wain:
Randal O’Wain holds an MFA from Iowa’s Nonfiction Writing Program. He is the author of Meander Belt: family, loss, and coming of age in the working class south (American Lives Series, 2019) and Hallelujah Station and other stories (Autumn House Press, 2020) His essays and short stories have appeared in Oxford American, Guernica, The Pinch, Booth, Hotel Amerika, storySouth, among others
