Jason Bales
6:30pm-8:30pm, Epilogue Books

Jason Bales will be performing at Epilogue Books at 109 E. Franklin St. He is a Durham-based singer/songwriter, drawing on early rock and roll, country and folk influences to create often-humorous back-porch shuffles about ghosts, villains and life’s uncertainties. Born in Michigan, he recorded three albums with Lansing alt-country rockers Flatfoot before moving to North Carolina in 2007. Following a nearly decade-long hiatus from performing, he formed Durham-based rock band The Yardarm in 2017 and began playing solo shows. He has performed at venues all across North Carolina, and brings his dynamic voice and versatile guitar playing to every song he plays.

Wake Moody
6:30pm-8:30pm, The Purple Bowl

Chapel Hill, NC artist Wake Moody will be performing near The Purple Bowl at 306 W. Franklin St. Wake stays focused on good vibes, with music that fuses R&B/soul with singer-songwriter pop. “My childhood was sound-tracked by my parents’ favorite R&B, classic rock and soul records,” he explains, an influence apparent in his band’s soulful live shows, featuring hypnotic grooves and vocal harmonies.

Wake Moody’s debut EP, Shivers, released March 2019, earning comparisons to Earth Wind & Fire, John Mayer and Frank Ocean. Since then he and his band have played at the NC State Fair, the Eno River Festival, the Pinhook, Local 506 and more.

Emma Jane,
6:30pm-8:30pm, near Talulla’s

Emma Jane will be performing near Talulla’s at 456 W. Franklin St. Emma is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Durham, North Carolina. She discovered her love of songwriting and performing at the age of 10 during a week of Girls Rock NC summer camp. Through middle school and high school, Emma continued to write and perform original music, eventually going on to play all over the triangle at venues like Cat’s Cradle, Motorco and The Durham Farmers Market. She recently graduated from Bard College in New York where she majored in Art History and Spanish with a focus in music performance and production. She hopes to meet more local NC musicians to help expand her electro-acoustic singer/songwriter sound.
