The Songologist AKA Rob Gelblum
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Epilogue

The Songologist (aka Rob Gelblum) will be performing near Epilogue Books at 109 E. Franklin St. Rob plays everything from folk to R&B, pre-’90s rock, Americana, bluegrass, reggae, Appalachian, old-time, mountain, soul and older country.

Rob’s been getting back to music over the past few years after 35 years suing polluters as an environmental lawyer. He was a busker in Paris for 2 years in the ’70s and played the Triangle music scene before starting law school in ’81. He’s been honored to gig over the past couple years at various Triangle venues. Rob has also been the house busker at Merritt’s Grill and Honeysuckle Teahouse. Slippery Hill
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at 140 West Franklin

Slippery Hill will perform at 140 West Franklin St. This father-son duo plays bluegrass, blues, and NC folk music filled with

Tapping feet, clapping hands, call-response, and sing-along songs all add to the fancy flatpicking and singing! Veteran performer Charles Pettee, (mandolin, octave mandolin, vocals), draws on his experience from thousands of performances with the world-touring Shady Grove Band (“One of our state’s musical treasures.” Raleigh News & Observer), and across his 30-year career as a professional musician and teaching artist in schools throughout the southeast. Son Jackson Pettee (guitar, vocals) who grew up with music in the home all his life, adds his experience performing with the UNC Bluegrass Ensemble, and with his participation since 2021 as guitar player for the weekly “Beer and Banjos All Stars,” (a beloved Triangle-based bluegrass collective). Together Slippery Hill invites you to join them on a journey through the multicultural sounds and instruments from around the world that will send you singing into your day!

Andrew Whiteman
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Talulla’s

Andrew Whiteman will perform near Talulla’s at 456 W. Franklin St. Born and raised in North Carolina, Andrew’s music is rooted in folk, country, and blues. He recently returned home after living across the US, Africa, and Asia for the last thirteen years. His artistic muse is the constant search for experiences that make us feel alive. The lyrical content is no stranger to pain, but explores the relationship between suffering, resurrection, and love.  With virtuosic guitar picking and rhythmic style, Andrew’s music is a defiance against the struggles of life and a guide to the human spirit within all of us.
