Stevan Jackson
Friday 10/8 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the West End/Talulla’s

Stevan Jackson will perform at Blue Dogwood Public Market.

One can see Stevan wearing several hats. One of those is as a singer-songwriter, writing melodies and lyrics to songs in different genres and with multi-variant themes. He uses different instruments as vehicles to convey the message of his songs to his audience. Stevan also composes instrumental pieces for Celtic harp, guitar, piano, mandolin, and banjo. Shows performed by Stevan often encompasses only his original material.

As a performer of traditional ballads and stories, Stevan sings material with messages that will move an audience as well as make them think about life. Like a silversmith who produces fine works of jewelry and other precious items, Stevan is a tunesmith who, through the use of a variety of musical instruments, weaves together song and story with a magical flair. During his eclectic weaving, the audience may hear Celtic harp, guitar, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, Autoharp, or tin whistle intertwined in the background of a song or a story. Or he may weave melody and counter melody into an instrumental solo of fine musical lace and filigree within a folk, classical, pop, jazz, or original melodic setting. Much of his material highlights music from different cultures in an informative and entertaining manner.

DJ P Nominal
Saturday 10/9 12 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Trophy Room
at Graduate Hotel’s Tailgate Party

Patrick Edmundson, better known as DJ P.Nominal, grew up in Youngsville North Carolina just outside of Wake County. His nickname was created as a play on words. His goal for any of his events is to leave the people feeling fulfilled, and thinking of their experience as Phenomenal. 

His initial interest in the art of DJing was sparked around middle school. He would listen to various Disc Jockeys on the radio and would discover the art of blending two records together, to create one. DJs like DJ Deluxe were among his favorites to listen to, and after a few years of this curiosity he convinced his mother to buy his first DJ setup.

Throughout P.Nominal’s professional career, the experience for the audience, has always been the #1 priority. To make people: laugh, dance and forget any problems they may have faced before. For however much time he would have them, he would create a phenomenal experience! 

16 years later this task is still at the forefront for DJ P.Nominal. Making people from all walks of life have the experience 

of a lifetime. To make them Laugh, Dance, and party like nobody’s watching!

Laura [ @LMSongs ]

Laura has been signing her entire life, but just learned to play guitar last year (2019). She sings pop/r&b songs and plays the electric guitar. Laura is a staple in our downtown Chapel Hill live music scene.

Rob Gelblum
Saturday 10/9 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Peace & Justice Plaza

Rob has been playing guitar and piano, and singing, for over 50 years. The thing that all his songs have in common, regardless of genre, is soulfulness. He plays everything from folk to R&B, pre-’90s rock, Americana, bluegrass, reggae, Appalachian, old-time, mountain, soul and older country.

Dan Kelo
Saturday 10/9 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Blue Dogwood

Dan Kelo is a singer/songwriter/musician currently playing guitar in a band called Harbors. Harbors has an album set for release this month and Dan is working on releasing a new solo album in the months to come as well.

Dan will perform a half-hour set of original acoustic guitar/vocal material and will continue performing into the evening with covers.

Rony Thomas
Saturday 10/9 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on West Franklin St./Talulla’s

Catch Rony Thomas on West Franklin St. in front of Elaine’s, by Talulla’s and Carolina Brewery.

Rony Thomas has been a regular part of our downtown music scene as “Smooth,” the pianist in the duo Sway & Smooth. This is his first solo performance with us, although he’s been performing solo for years.
