Slippery Hill
6:30pm-8:30pm, Epilogue

Slippery Hill will perform near Epilogue Books at 109 E. Franklin St. This father-son duo plays bluegrass, blues, and NC folk music filled with tapping feet, clapping hands, call-response, and sing-along songs all add to the fancy flatpicking and singing! Veteran performer Charles Pettee, (mandolin, octave mandolin, vocals), draws on his experience from thousands of performances with the world-touring Shady Grove Band (“One of our state’s musical treasures.” Raleigh News & Observer), and across his 30-year career as a professional musician and teaching artist in schools throughout the southeast. Son Jackson Pettee (guitar, vocals) who grew up with music in the home all his life, adds his experience performing with the UNC Bluegrass Ensemble, and with his participation since 2021 as guitar player for the weekly “Beer and Banjos All Stars,” (a beloved Triangle-based bluegrass collective). Together Slippery Hill invites you to join them on a journey through the multicultural sounds and instruments from around the world that will send you singing into your day!

Stevan Jackson
6:30pm-8:30pm, Talulla’s

Stevan Jackson will perform in front of Talullas, located at 456 W. Franklin St. One can see Stevan wearing several hats. One of those is as a singer-songwriter, writing melodies and lyrics to songs in different genres and with multi-variant themes. He uses different instruments as vehicles to convey the message of his songs to his audience. Stevan also composes instrumental pieces for Celtic harp, guitar, piano, mandolin, and banjo. Shows performed by Stevan often encompasses only his original material.
