Here is the music lineup for Saturday evening, November 5.
Logan Duke will perform near Epilogue Books at 109 E. Franklin St. He is a young songwriter/multi-instrumentalist based out of the NC Sandhills. He harkens back to original Americana- Folk but modernized with shades of Alt-Rock/Country/Electronica and strives to bring healing music to a new generation. Logan is also the lead singer of the band PRIOR~.
Originally from NJ and raised in Georgia and NC by Puerto Rican and Canadian parents, he is searching for the metaphorical global roots we all presume are there. After his first of many moves from NJ, he was inspired to pick up his guitar by a folk duo named Milk Carton Kids after watching them in a movie. He taught himself how to play guitar before finally taking formal classical guitar lessons at the early age of 10.
After his 4th and final military move to North Carolina, he took inspiration from T Bone Burnett soundtracks and then feasted on early blues music such as Robert Johnson and BB King, which led to REM, Jeff Buckley, Milk Carton Kids, and Bjork. He does all the instrumentation and mixing on his recordings and has played the stages of various clubs and festivals in mid-North Carolina solo and with his band PRIOR~, made up of veteran musicians. Dan Kelo will perform near The Purple Bowl at 309 W. Franklin St. Dan is a classical percussionist, who studied jazz piano at Berklee College of Music, played Los Angeles for 20+ years in various bands, including a seven year stint with ex-Miles Davis bassist Michael Henderson. He is soon to release a solo record of acoustic guitar and vocal oddball Americana. Follow him on Facebook to learn more!
Andrew Whiteman will perform near Talulla’s at 456 W. Franklin St. Born and raised in North Carolina, Andrew’s music is rooted in folk, country, and blues. He recently returned home after living across the US, Africa, and Asia for the last thirteen years. His artistic muse is the constant search for experiences that make us feel alive. The lyrical content is no stranger to pain, but explores the relationship between suffering, resurrection, and love. With virtuosic guitar picking and rhythmic style, Andrew’s music is a defiance against the struggles of life and a guide to the human spirit within all of us. Check out his album, Where I Used to Wait, on Spotify and Apple Music. You can also follow him on Instagram and Facebook.
