The Town of Chapel Hill will be celebrating Pride Month all June long. Get ready for the first annual Promenade, performances, art installations, and more! Take a look at all of the local events happening this month.
In addition to the events sponsored by the Town of Chapel Hill, check out other programs and promotions from other local businesses:
June 3:
Brandwein’s Bagels
will be fundraising for the QTIPOC Fund, a mutual aid initiative which helps Queer, Transgender, Indigenous People Of Color (QTIPOC) living in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, or rural North Carolina.
June 12: Epilogue Books
will host a read-in on June 12th from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Head to Prologue for an old-school feminist read-in to benefit the QTIPOC+ Survival Fund! A group of readers will be reading a book by a queer BIPOC+ author in its entirety throughout the day. Stop in to listen and grab a drink — a portion of our sales will be going towards the QTIPOC+ Survival Fund.
June 18:
Epilogue Books will host a drag queen story hour on June 18th at 3 p.m. Join Chapel Hill’s very own Gia Gherkin for a drag queen story time to celebrate Pride! Bring your kids, your friends, and yourselves—all ages are welcome!
June 18: In honor of Pride month and everything it stands for, The Dead Mule Club is throwing a party! Party for #pride on the deck with special musical guests, The Hourglass Kids! Take advantage of no cover to enjoy great food by Chef Christian & Sam and great drinks. The Club will donate 100% of food & drink sales for the day to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that works towards suicide and crisis prevention amongst LGBTQ+ youth. The bar opens at 3pm and the band will begin performing at 7:30pm.
June 19:
Chapel Hill Training will hold Bootcamp & Brunch
on the Southern Village Green. Enjoy a high-energy fitness class led by one of their expert personal trainers, followed by a delicious brunch at Town Hall Grill, with a special discount for bootcamp participants. Class registration is donation-based with all proceeds benefitting Equality NC. Click here to register.
