It’s the first 2nd Friday of 2023! Kick off the new year with fun events around downtown Chapel Hill on Friday evening:

Attic 506 will open 2 installations on Friday evening. The first is showings of a short film, “Light is Waiting”, a short film by Michael Robinson, in the Acid Rain exhibit space. The second is the opening of “Dremzidence: Dreaming As a Form of Resistance” at 6pm in the SLUG project space. This immersive installation offers the chance to experience your own personal dream world with magic and art created by “blaqtransnonbinary creatrix” Surrayyah and JéLyn. Come dressed as your most liberated self!

-Ackland Art Museum will host the Arts For All Fair from 6-9pm. This is the perfect opportunity to meet some of the creative organizations and activities at UNC, become an Ackland member, and browse the galleries.

-Want to meet new people? Try Speed Friending at Epilogue Books on Friday night at 6pm! This is a great way to make connections in a low-stress environment. Tickets are $6 and include a cafe drink.

-Cap off the night at The Gathering Place for Nerd Trivia at 10pm! Categories will include: Science Fiction of the Screen, “I Name the Sci-Fi Book – You Name the Author”, Nintendo, and Fictional Doctors (Not Just Medical). Good luck!
