- The Chapel Hill Black Film Festival will be held at Varsity Theatre, February 10-11. The event will feature premieres, panel discussions, and other programs to celebrating Black filmmakers. You can get your tickets here.
- Ackland Art Museum will hold evening hours from 5:00-9:00pm. The evening will feature:
- the debut of a three-day sound installation by Lee Weisert, Both Man and Beast and the Creeping Thing, presented in connected with Good Object / Bad Object (on view Feb 10-12)
- mini-tours of Laurel Nakadate: Ten Performances from 365 Days: A Catalogue of Tears led by Lauren Turner, Associate Curator for Contemporary Art and Special Projects, at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.
- a premiere of a behind-the-scenes video on how Good Object / Bad Object was put together will be shown on the hour at 6, 7, and 8 p.m.
- View Dremzidence: Dreaming As a Form of Resistance
at Attic 506. This immersive installation offers the chance to experience your own personal dream world with magic and art created by “blaqtransnonbinary creatrix” Surrayyah and JéLyn. Come dressed as your most liberated self!
- Head to The Gathering Place
for Nerd Trivia, hosted by local nerd guru Chris Ross and guests at 10pm! Come trade in that wealth of nerd wisdom knocking around in your skull for prizes.
